Hi, I’m Kristin!

I am a Certified Nutrition Coach, mother, homesteader, competing runner and mountain biker, hiker, and lover of the great outdoors. A common thread runs through these aspects of my life: a strong fountain in nutritional wellness.

My passion for nutrition began at childhood, watching my grandfather use a macrobiotic diet to provide a higher quality of life as he navigated cancer. Throughout my youth and early adulthood, I explored the relationship between food and wellness, with a strong focus on clean eating, and fast-food alternatives.

Little could I have known my passion was about to become a necessity, when my son was diagnosed with a rare form of intractable epilepsy in 2017. After a whirlwind of appointments, tests, and protocols, it seemed there was little his medical team could do to lessen his endless seizures. There was just one last option they offered us - to add a medically supervised ketogenic diet to his prescribed medications. Incredibly, the diet brought him from 200+ drop seizures a day, to about 50, with less severe convulsions. For the years to follow, it was my life’s work to support my son’s prescribed diet from all directions: Providing encouragement when the diet felt impossible. Weighing everything he ate, to the gram. Finding creative ways to work fats and proteins into items that felt like treats. Creating special holiday meals that were inclusive to his medical ratio. Navigating menus when dining out. Packing shelf stable, compliant foods when traveling.

The journey and process truly shaped my life. And, I am happy to share that my son is currently in a remission, and has successfully weaned off of his diet.

In very recent years, I found myself in yet another nutritional care-giving role, this time for myself. After years of battling a long list of mix-matched symptoms and diagnoses, I was able to hone in on one single culprit: silent reflux. Through careful research and by implementing an evidence based nutrition plan, I was able to heal my reflux, as well as eliminate inflammation in my body.

These personal experiences, my education and certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and my compassionate, client-first approach, are the foundation of my offerings as a coach. It is an honor to support your journey!
